Long-haul group travel from Baltimore
Baltimore is a natural hub for long-haul coach travel — within 10 hours of a motor coach drive, you can reach Boston, Montreal via Niagara, all of Virginia, all of the Carolinas, most of Ohio, and upstate New York. Our coach fleet from Baltimore runs these trips every week: school educational trips to Washington DC (the classic overnight run), band and choir tours to Branson or Nashville, college athletic and club sports trips to the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, church group retreats and mission trips, and multi-day national-park tours heading north to Acadia or south to Shenandoah and the Great Smoky Mountains.
Every coach in our long-haul fleet is a full-size DOT-certified highway coach: 40 to 61 passengers, under-floor luggage bays with 400+ cubic feet, onboard restroom, Wi-Fi (cellular-backhauled), reclining seats with 110V power outlets, overhead reading lamps, individual A/C, DVD monitors, and driver PA system. We staff with full-time DOT-certified drivers who have at least 3 years of commercial passenger experience — they carry a Class B CDL with P endorsement, pass quarterly drug screens, and run under our Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) authority.
Multi-day trips include driver lodging as a line-item on the quote — we book a standard mid-tier hotel adjacent to your group overnight. DOT hours-of-service rules cap drivers at 10 hours of driving per day and 15 hours on duty, which shapes the daily itinerary: a Baltimore-to-Nashville drive is 2 days each way, a Baltimore-to-Orlando is 3 days each way with a halfway overnight, and any itinerary with more than 450 driving miles a day needs two drivers. We plan all of this at the quote stage so there are no surprises on the road.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book a multi-day coach trip?
Peak education-trip windows (March–May, October) and summer tour season book 3–4 months in advance. Shoulder seasons have more flexibility. Holiday weeks (Thanksgiving, spring break) fill fastest.
Do multi-day trips need two drivers?
For itineraries with more than 450 driving miles in a single day, yes. DOT rules cap one driver at 10 hours of drive time and 15 on duty. For multi-day trips where daily miles are moderate, a single driver works.
Where does the driver stay overnight?
We book a standard mid-tier hotel adjacent to your group's overnight location. Lodging is a line item on the multi-day quote — you pay it, we book it.
What if the coach breaks down on the road?
24/7 dispatch and a national sister-fleet network. Replacement coaches route from the nearest available garage — typical window 60–120 minutes for Eastern Seaboard breakdowns.
Can we bring luggage for a 5-day trip?
Yes. Full-size motor coaches have 400+ cubic feet of under-floor luggage — roughly one large suitcase per passenger plus overhead. Bands with instruments get the extended coach with rear cargo.
Do we need to tip the driver?
Gratuity is customary but not required — typically 10–15% of the base fare, handed directly to the driver or added to the final invoice. For multi-day trips, many groups tip daily rather than at the end.
