Getting a group on and off campus
- Address: 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD 21250. The main campus is in Catonsville, between Baltimore and Washington, DC.
- Use the taxi stands, not the street address. UMBC has five signed drop-off and pick-up points (Taxi Stands 1 to 5) and says they work much better for drivers than the street address. Tell us which building you are headed to and we set the closest stand as the stop.
- Visitor parking is for cars. Visitors pay by the hour with ParkMobile in three garages (Administration Drive, Commons and Walker Avenue). A drop-off and pickup avoids that for a group.

UMBC Transit and when to charter
UMBC Transit runs shuttle routes for UMBC students, faculty and staff (a Campus ID card is required to board), covering residential communities and shopping areas near campus, Arbutus and the Halethorpe MARC station, and the BWI MARC/Amtrak station. A private charter is for the trips those routes do not cover: a club going to a conference, a team or department traveling to another campus, visiting families without a Campus ID, or a group leaving at its own time.
Common UMBC trips
- BWI runs: UMBC says BWI is about five minutes from campus. One van or coach can meet a recruiting class, visiting speakers or an international student group (airport transfers).
- Away games and tournaments: a motorcoach with luggage space for gear, out and back on one schedule.
- Conferences and field trips: DC, Annapolis, Philadelphia and New York day trips (routes).
- Commencement and family weekends: hotel shuttles for families so nobody fights for a parking space.
- Student nights out: a party bus to downtown Baltimore with one pickup back to campus.
Pick the vehicle by headcount and by how the day runs: Sprinter vans for small groups, party buses when the ride is part of the fun, minicoaches and full-size motorcoaches when you need luggage space or more seats. The quote form shows what is open on your date, with the price.
We do not accept purchase orders; university departments can pay by major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.), cash, certified check, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle and Bitcoin (BTC).
